The Surroundings
Beyond the property
The Osa region of Costa Rica is one of the most biodiverse places on Earth. From cascading waterfalls and pristine beaches to world-class wildlife and adventure, every day offers a new experience.

Nauyaca Waterfalls
A stunning two-tiered cascade plunging 197 feet through pristine rainforest into a turquoise swimming pool. Reachable by guided hike, horseback, or 4x4 — just 15 minutes from the house.

Playa Uvita & Whale's Tail
At low tide, a spectacular natural sandbar extends into the Pacific forming the shape of a whale's tail — one of the most iconic coastal formations in Costa Rica. Inside Marino Ballena National Park, 20 minutes south.

Whale Watching
Uvita has the longest humpback whale season in the world. Northern Hemisphere whales arrive December through April, while a larger Southern Hemisphere population migrates from Antarctica July through November.

Paragliding
Soar above the jungle canopy and gaze out over the Pacific on a tandem flight. The patchwork of rainforest, river, and surf below reveals the breathtaking scale of this coastline.

Manuel Antonio National Park
Costa Rica's most celebrated national park, where pristine white-sand beaches meet primary rainforest. Three monkey species, two sloth species, toucans, and iguanas — 45 minutes north.

Surfing
Dominical offers one of the most consistent surf breaks in Costa Rica, active 95% of the year. From powerful beach breaks for experienced riders to gentler waves at nearby Dominicalito for beginners.

Scarlet Macaws & Birdwatching
The Osa region is home to the largest population of scarlet macaws in Mesoamerica. Over 400 bird species inhabit the area, from toucans and tanagers to motmots and trogons.

Corcovado National Park
Called "the most biologically intense place on Earth" by National Geographic. Home to jaguars, tapirs, all four Costa Rican monkey species, and the largest population of scarlet macaws. Accessible by boat from Uvita.

Cano Island Snorkeling
The premier snorkeling destination on Costa Rica's Pacific coast. Crystal-clear waters with 60–80 foot visibility reveal vibrant coral gardens, sea turtles, manta rays, and white-tip reef sharks.

Uvita Dining
A growing culinary scene just 20 minutes away. Farm-to-table at Sebas, fine dining at Louis XIII, ocean-view fusion at Scala, and the lively Uvita Gastro Park with its mix of international kitchens and craft cocktails.

Ojochal Dining
Known as the culinary capital of the South Pacific coast. French-global fusion at Citrus, tropical romance at Exotica, Mediterranean ocean-view dining at Azul, and authentic Indonesian cuisine at Ylang Ylang.
